July is going to be a very special month as we celebrate the 4th anniversary of our brand Cilian’gel. Yes, 4 years already, can you believe it.

Participate and enter amazing photos showing off Cilian’gel creations in the Cilian’gel’s Flickr pool contest and win the first prize, two weeks rental in Chicago 1920’s (all costs covered!) and a whole new range of fashion released at the fashion show on the first of July (Stay tuned). How would you like to become Second Life’s next top model?! As part of its Four Year Anniversary in Second Life, Cilian’gel will be running a 1920s photography contest, and the prize for four lucky men and four lucky women will be modelling photo sessions with designer and photographer, Cilia Shepherd. The winners’ photos from the shoot will be displayed in Cilia’s stores in SL, on the Cilian’gel blog and the Cilian’gel Flickr group. The winners will model brand new outfits designed by Cilia, which they will get to keep as part of the prize. The models will also get copies of all the photos from their photo shoot. The overall winner, as decided by Cilia, will also receive two weeks free rental accommodation at the 1920s Chicago roleplay sim!!

Dates of the contest

June 1st - June 30th 2012 (contest will end at midnight SLT on this date)

Prizes

1. The top prize winner (decided by Cilia) will win two weeks free accommodation at the wonderful 1920s Chicago roleplay sim.

2. Brand new Cilian’gel outfits that the eight winners will model and get to keep (each winner will get four new outfits)

3. Modelling sessions for these eight winners with Cilia Shepherd (winners must each allow up to two hours for the shoot, which will be arranged with Cilia at a time that suits)

4. Professional publicity photos from the Cilian’gel modelling session

5. Modelling publicity by appearing on vendors/posters in Cilia’s stores in SL, her inworld Cilian’gel group, on her blog and on Flickr

How to enter

1. Take photos of yourself wearing 1920s Cilian’gel outfit/s, and post them in the Cilian’gel Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/ciliangel/. You must sign up to flickr.com in order to be able to do this (this is very easy and takes only a couple of minutes, it’s free and all you need is an email address - you can use your SL name for this if you need to make a new email address). It is also free to save your pictures from Second Life onto your computer hard drive. You may enter as many times as you wish, but each photo must show a different outfit and include the styling details (see also point 3) NB Give each photo that you enter the title “Cilian’gel 1920s Flickr Contest Entry.” Photos that do not include this title will not be accepted. If you enter more than once, please number each of your entries as well. You may also add any subtitles to your photo that you wish.

2. Photo editing is allowed but not essential, and should be subtle - it’s better to take a good shot without editing than a highly edited photo that doesn’t have much creativity. Do be creative with your photos, and remember you are showing the model and the clothes, so most of the avatar should be on show. Editing must not take away from the picture being based on Cilia’s clothes and it should be obvious that the photo has been taken in Second Life. And remember, you may use any SL features that you can to enhance your photos (windlight, shadows etc) No one will be penalized because they have not used photo editing - the judge is looking for good photos! Remember to have fun with your entry and how you combine/show Cilian’gel’s outfits.

3. Your pics must show clothing from Cilian’gel 1920s Boutique - you may combine clothes from different outfits from this store if you wish, this can include hunt items, group gifts and discounted outfits. Join the Cilian’gel inworld group to receive regular info about Cilian’gel’s latest releases and receive high quality free gifts too! You may use hair, shoes and accessories from other stores. Please write a list of all items worn, including the non-Cilian’gel items, in the description of your picture.

4. You do not need to have any modelling experience to enter the contest. Cilian’gel is offering a one-off modelling shoot for each prize winner, including the Cilian’gel clothing that each model wears. Winners will need to allow time for your photo shoot (up to two hours) and they get to keep the pictures and the outfits worn. Please note, this is not a modelling school as such, but you will gain modelling experience from this and some valuable publicity in SL, flickr and the Cilian’gel blog. And of course, the modelling shoot will be fun, which is far more important!

5. If you are not the photographer, the photographer’s name should be credited in the description of your picture. Only the models in the winning pictures will receive the prize. The judge is Cilia Shepherd, and her decision is final - no correspondence will be entered into after the winners have been named. Judging will be based on creativity, styling and how you present Cilian’gel’s outfits.

6. The closing date is final, anything submitted after this time will not be accepted.

7. You may vote for your favourite four photos (not including your own!) by sending your name and choices of four fave photos by flickrmail to Cilia Shepherd, or by sending her a notecard inworld. Voting will be accepted until 2pm SLT July 2nd 2012. The winners will be based on these votes and Cilia will have the final say as overall judge.

8. The winners will be announced on Flickr, the Cilian’gel inworld group and the Cilian’gel blog on July 3rd.

Here is my latest picture taken for the Luna Jubilee color week challenge: Seashell Peach. I have been in the group of Luna for a little while now. Every now and then I am on time with the challenge, but mostly too late with it, pffft… BUT Luna never gets mad at the late participants, so I guess we should feel very lucky to belong!

I have had the ‘Cil no 8’ dress project on stand by in my inventory for a few months already when I realized it was a perfect color match with this week Luna’s new color challenge. I had no excuses not to finalize this ‘oh la la’ 1920’s fashion piece anymore!
